At least for today
Do not be angry
Do not worry
Be grateful
Work with diligence
Be kind to people
From the Reiki Vow by Mikao Usui, founder of Reiki
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese healing practice that reduces stress and promotes wellness on all levels. The name is a combination of the Japanese words “Rei,” or spiritual wisdom and “Ki,” or life force energy. Together as “Reiki,” they can be translated as “spiritually guided life-force energy.”
Reiki is a simple method of healing that can have only beneficial results for the person receiving it. Reiki can help anyone to heal from emotional trauma and stress. It is a wonderful support for speeding the recovery from physical injury, and it can assist in clearing the body of toxins. Reiki can also be enlisted to help balance the life force within you and to prepare and aid you in an emotional transformation if you are seeking to “level up” in some aspect of your life where you feel “stuck.”
Reiki has no requirement for religious belief attached to it, and no dogma associated with it. This means that it works whether or not you believe in it. No matter what your personal belief system or spiritual practice is, you can choose to receive the healing power of Reiki.
What is a session like?
To begin the session, I create a safe space where a client can start allowing themselves to be calm. A relaxed, open state is the best way to allow the benefits of Reiki into your life. Sometimes just giving yourself permission to be fully present is enough to start the healing process.
Throughout the session, the client remains fully clothed. Depending on the individual client and the details of what we are seeking to heal in a session, I may hold my hands slightly above the Reiki points or place them gently on the body where healing is needed. It is important to me that all clients feel comfortable throughout the session, and I encourage any questions you might have about the healing process. Please reach out to me here to book a session or ask a question.
Every practitioner in my Reiki lineage agrees to do their healing in accordance with the following principles.
The Three Precepts of Reiki
The receiver must take responsibility for their own healing.
My role is to serve as the conduit for the spirit-guided (“rei”) life-force energy (“ki”) to flow through so that you can receive it in the way that is most beneficial and useful for your body, mind, spirit and soul. I do my best to provide a safe and supportive location so that you can be present in a way that is empowering and healing. Reiki is about the receiver learning how to remember what their body and being need to be healthy and whole.
The Reiki practitioner must get permission from the receiver
Reiki is all about consent. I will only offer Reiki to someone who is ready and willing to receive it. Allowing your body and being to be ready to receive the energy of Reiki is an important part of your healing, and is always under your control.
An equal exchange should take place for services rendered
